Whether your brows are sparse, over plucked or simply in need of definition, microblading can transform your look.
Microblading has become very popular over the last couple of years and is now considered a routine treatment for a growing number of women.
We use a handheld tool to create the look of individual hair strokes which are extremely natural and mimic your own eyebrow hair. This is the perfect option for anyone who wants to define and shape their brows without having to apply pencils, powders and pomades every day.
Whether you suffer from sparse, over-plucked eyebrows, alopecia or simply needs definition, microblading can transform your appearance.
There are several other options when it comes to permanent brows too, from individual hair strokes to ombre or ‘brow mist’. Here at Skin Cosmetics London, our focus lies on creating as natural result as possible with hair strokes that look exactly like your own.
A well-defined and shaped brow is one of the most important features on the face and can create the most immediate, positive impact restoring lost confidence and allowing you to wake up with your brows ready to go.
Question . . .
During the initial consultation, we will walk you through our treatment plan and give you an idea of how to improve your eyebrows, whether we are enhancing sparse, thin brows or giving them a completely new look. Brows can have such a positive impact on your face, and we appreciate that this is a big step for some of our clients, our Microblading treatments in London will enhance your features and save you valuable time and money every day. We will ask you about the look you would like to achieve and also advise you on the brow that will best suit your face shape and lifestyle.
We then apply a topical anaesthetic for around 20 minutes to numb the top layers of the skin, making you as comfortable as possible. During this time a custom colour will be mixed to perfectly match your brow/hair colour. Your practitioner will then create the ‘template’ by drawing on your new brow shape with a pencil – we love your input at this stage of the process to make sure that you are happy with the overall look of the brows. Once you and the technician are happy with the template then the microblading will begin. Individual hair strokes are created within the new template using the custom blended pigment. We will apply pigment to each brow 2/3 times.
The final stage is the control session, which is around 5 weeks after your first treatment, this session is to make any tweaks to the colour or shape and add in any brow strokes that didn’t take.
Whilst microblading is not painful as such, it may cause mild discomfort. table, most people don’t feel much at all once the secondary anaesthetic is applied. We do recommend that you try to avoid having a treatment if you are pre-menstrual as the skin is far more sensitive during this time.
Your brows will go through a number of changes as you heal, they will appear a little darker around day 4/5 and then fade during the second week, this is due to the pigment being ‘hidden’ by the healing skin and is nothing to worry about. During the 3rd week, the colour will bloom back and by week 4 you will have your healed result. You should expect some light shedding but nothing more and you will lose around 30% of the pigment after your first treatment which will be reapplied at your control session.
We schedule 2 hours for your treatment which includes time to apply your anaesthetic and create your template, the actual microblading takes around 45 minutes.
Usually clients look fine following treatments, however if the client is prone to rosacea or has very sensitive skin, they make look a little red around the area for a couple of hours afterwards, but this will fade quickly. Most people resume normal activities directly after the session.
The results are extremely natural and will last around 12 months before a refresh session is needed. With oily skin, it is up to 6 months.

- Do not consume coffee before your procedure
- Do not take an aspirin or ibuprofen for pain relief (this thins the blood)
Please follow the following advice:
The day of the treatment:
Gently blot your brow with a clean tissue (after your microblading brow treatment) for the first hour on the day of your procedure to remove the lymph (bodily fluid which causes scabbing) and apply a rice gran amount of aftercare every 3 hours.
Days 1-7: Wash
Gently wash your eyebrows each morning and night with water and a gentle antibacterial cleanser, anything for sensitive skin or baby products are perfect (this will not wash out the pigment!). Very lightly use your fingertips to gently cleanse the brow, use small circular movements for 10 seconds and then rinse with water until the cleanser has been rinsed away. To dry, gently pat with a clean tissue, do not rub with a towel. DO NOT use any cleansing products containing acids (glycolic, lactic, or AHA), or any exfoliants as this will affect the pigment.
Days 1-7 Moisturize
Apply a rice grain amount of aftercare ointment 3 times a day (make sure the skin is dry). Be sure not to over-apply as this will suffocate your skin and affect the results.
- Use a fresh pillowcase and avoid sleeping on your face for the first 10 days
- Avoid direct sun exposure or tanning for 4 weeks after procedure
- Let any scabbing or dry skin naturally exfoliate away. Picking can cause scarring or loss of colour
- No facials, Botox, chemical treatments, peels or microdermabrasion for 4 weeks
- Avoid hot, sweaty exercise for one week, swimming, saunas and Jacuzzis for 1 month
- Avoid heavy sweating and long hot showers for the first 10 days.
- Avoid topical makeup including sunscreen on the area
- DO NOT rub, pick or scratch the treated area.
Limit your showers to 5 minutes so you do not create too much steam. Keep your face out of the water while you wash your body to avoid excessively getting it wet. Your face should only be getting wet at the very last end of the shower. Avoid excessive rinsing and hot water on the treated area.
Remember your selected colour will be stronger and more defined for the first few days after application but as the healing process occurs, the colour will soften and lighten.
The pigment may look very faded under the healing skin around the second week, this is very normal, and the colour will reappear as the skin heals (from the 3rd week).
The approximate healing period is 14 days, however this can be prolonged if your immune system is compromised, if you are generally stressed or have a poor diet.
Keep in mind that some unevenness in colour is to be expected – this is the purpose of the control visit, which is included in the initial cost. However, if you do not attend your control visit then you will be charged for further treatments
