A non-surgical/non-invasive treatment to target stubborn cellulite, as well as decreasing fat, loose skin and shaping the body
Cellulite is a term for the formation of lumps and dimples in the skin. Cellulite is caused by fat clusters in the subcutaneous tissue. The characteristic bumpy appearance is due to fat being pushed against connective tissues, causing this effect. Cellulite also causes poorer blood circulation due to this clustering, thus skin texture and tone are also adversely affected.
Common names for cellulite are orange-peel skin, cottage-cheese skin, hail damage, and the mattress phenomenon. Cellulite can affect both men and women, but it is more common in females, due to the different distributions of fat, muscle, and connective tissue. Between 80 and 90 percent of women may experience cellulite at some point in their lives.
Cellulite can be stubborn and can adversely affect confidence. This treatment is aimed at making the individual feel more confident and comfortable both naked and in clothes. The added benefit of body contouring & fat loss will help clothes fit better, thus enhancing results.
At Skin Cosmetics London, we use advanced non-surgical technologies for cellulite reduction. This non-invasive method is suitable for body contouring, fat reduction, cellulite reduction. It is safe and effective and can be used on many areas of the body, including the back, arms, legs & abdomen.
What are the four stages of cellulite?
There are four distinct stages that define cellulite conditions
Stage One: Cellulite can be characterized by a “jiggly”, loose appearance and may be accompanied by slightly visible “orange peel” when standing.
Stage Two: Is indicated by visible dimpling and an “orange peel” appearance on the skin’s surface.
Stage Three: Is characterized by a cottage cheese appearance and visible lumps under the skin’s surface.
Stage Four: Cellulite is characterized by a mattress-like appearance of the skin’s surface and larger lumps under the surface which can be very painful to touch.
How does cellulite treatment work?
This treatment combines multiple modes of action: vacuum massage, laser, cooling and ultrasound to break down the dense cellulite fibrous tissues. External ultrasound combined with vacuum can break up fat and adipose tissues non-surgically by a combination of ultrasound and vacuum. This also deals with the loss of skin laxity. Furthermore, we can also emulsify fat and there is far less damage to blood vessels, skin and tissues. At the same time, the skin and its underneath (subcutaneous tissues) will be stimulated by the mechanical massage and suction actions of Biocelase and treat cellulite, in addition to cooling and smoothing of the skin. This treatment can also check the body fat stores.
The steps involved
Effect of Vaculase procedure
an increase in blood flow due to capillary and arterial vasodilatation
change in capillary hydrostatic pressure
stimulation of electrolyte metabolism
The Vaculase laser emission is characterized by strictly uniform, constant and controlled pulses in combination with localized cooling and mechanical vacuum massage
Vaculase treatment mode combines three modes of action: laser, mechanical massage and cooling. When aimed at an area of cellulite, the low-level laser beams warm the tissues and stimulate circulation in the very tiny vessels. At the same time, mechanical massage and suction stimulates the subcutaneous tissue. In addition, localized cooling smoothes the skin.
Effective Cellulite Reduction
Increased local blood circulation – Vaculase treatment is effective for temporarily increasing local blood circulation and microcirculatory function.
Increased lymphatic circulation – Massage and / or exercise are the only ways one can increase the flow of lymph.
Stretching of the vertical connective fibers (septae) – Suction and cupping gently stretch the septae to repair dimpling and restore a smooth skin surface.
Vaculase laser component has shown to be able to break up some of the fat cells
Effect of Vacusound procedure
Vacusound mode combines suction and powerful ultrasound energy that is based on the action of particular sound waves, of a frequency much higher than audible sounds.
Since they are quite simply high-frequency vibrations, it could be said that their effect is like that of a delicate, highly localised massage. During ultrasound treatment sessions, the client lies comfortably relaxed while the therapist runs through the hand-held cylinder hand-set (connected to the Biocelase computer-like machine) back and forth over the area being treated.
The client feels like having a deep stimulating massage. The vibrations emitted from this cylinder are transmitted to the skin and onto the underlying tissue where they provoke a variety of effects.
Increase the ability of the cells to absorb nutrients, facilitating fluid exchange among them; they also seem to stimulate the subcutaneous blood flow, which is always beneficial in the treatment of cellulite.
This type of technique has shown to be highly effective, especially in cases presenting recent deposits of compact. “orange peel” type cellulite, which often disappear entirely as a result of ultrasound treatment.
In cases presenting more consistent nodules, these are significantly reduced in size, and the overall texture of the skin becomes more even.
Rebalancing the ion grid – the body is made up of billions of electrically charged subatomic particles called ions which are used in the electrical reactions that happen in the body. When these ions are incorrectly charged, the electrical reactions lose efficiency with potentially damaging effects on the aesthetics of the body.
Enhancing blood flow—the blood transports essential nutrients and oxygen around the body. An improvement in blood flow enables more essential nutrients to be transported to where they are needed and provide more oxygen to the mitochondria to improve energy production.
Enhancing metabolism—the rate at which the body uses energy is called the metabolic rate. When increased, the metabolic rate consumes more calories for energy and burns more fat.
Stimulating the lymphatic system—the lymphatic system is the body’s water and waste transport system, closely linked with the circulatory system. Over time, this system can become blocked and sluggish. Biocelase stimulates the lymphatic system, clearing lymphatic blockages and disposing of waste (toxins) more quickly.
Dehydrating and decomposing fatty tissue—excess water stored in the fat cells plumps them out and makes them appear bigger than they are. Biocelase removes this water from the fat cells and breaks down fatty clusters into fatty acids, which the body can then use for energy.
Who is a suitable candidate for this treatment?
Most people who suffer from cellulite are generally suitable for this treatment. Clients who have had prior problems with laser therapy, however, should be carefully considered prior to treatment.
Relative contraindications to this treatment include:
Use of chemical or manual epilation 1 week prior to laser treatment
No treatment on clients that wear pacemakers or other electrical medical appliances
No treatment on pregnant women.
No treatment on clients with tumours to prevent any possible transferral or transformation.
No treatment on clients with heart conditions.
No treatment on clients with illnesses that affect the nervous system.
No treatments on clients with kidney failure or serious problems of the kidneys.
No treatment on skin cancer
No treatment on clients with severe vascular conditions
